With Unilamp supporting the lighting design, National Cultural Recreation Park in Ulaanbaatar, widely known as Children’s Park, stands as one of the city’s most important public recreational areas. As part of a corporate social responsibility program led by Rio Tinto Mongolia LLC, a 10.2-hectare plot on the west wing of the park has been transformed into a modern green facility designed for families and children. The redevelopment focuses on creating a safe, accessible, and well-organized outdoor space that can be used comfortably throughout the day and into the evening.

To support extended park usage after sunset, the site now features Unilamp’s premium quality outdoor luminaires. Finished with UniShield16 coating, the lighting system is built to perform reliably under Mongolia’s demanding outdoor conditions, including temperature variation, wind, dust, and prolonged exposure. The lighting enhances visibility across walkways, open areas, and architectural features while maintaining a calm and balanced nighttime environment that suits a family-oriented public park.
The project features a carefully selected range of Unilamp luminaires, including LuxBeat, CYCLOPS, and NEOS. Each luminaire was chosen to serve a specific purpose, from linear accent lighting and feature illumination to pedestrian pathways and general area lighting, ensuring that every part of the park is clearly defined and comfortable to use after dark.
As a large public park with daily visitors of all ages, National Cultural Recreation Park requires lighting that performs consistently, supports safety, and minimizes long-term maintenance. Unilamp’s luminaires are engineered with durable materials, controlled light distribution, and dependable optical performance to meet these needs. Their compact and clean designs allow discreet installation within landscape and architectural elements, helping the lighting blend naturally into the park environment.
The robust construction of the luminaires ensures resistance against moisture, dust, and weather changes commonly experienced in Mongolia. This reliability is essential for a public space that operates year-round and must remain welcoming and functional during evening hours without frequent maintenance interruptions.
