St. Raphael Catholic Church, located in Samut Prakan, Thailand, is a religious landmark that serves as a spiritual center for the local Catholic community. The church’s architecture is defined by strong geometric forms, clean structural lines, and carefully designed open spaces that support worship activities throughout the day and into the evening. To ensure the church remains functional, safe, and visually clear after sunset, Unilamp’s premium quality outdoor luminaires have been selected and installed to support both architectural expression and practical lighting requirements.
The lighting solution has been designed with careful consideration of the church’s role as a place of worship. Rather than overpowering the architecture, the luminaires provide controlled and balanced illumination that enhances key elements while maintaining a calm and respectful atmosphere. All luminaires used in the project are protected with UniShield16, ensuring long-term performance and reliability in outdoor conditions typical of Thailand’s climate, including humidity, rainfall, and temperature variation.
Across the project, several luminaire families are integrated, including LuxBeat, CETUS, SIRIUS, KUBIK, and BICEPS. Each product has been chosen based on its specific lighting function, installation flexibility, and ability to deliver consistent light output with minimal visual distraction. Together, these luminaires form a cohesive lighting system that supports the church’s architecture without altering its original character.
LuxBeat linear luminaires are applied to highlight architectural edges, steps, and horizontal surfaces. Their slim profile allows them to blend seamlessly into the structure while providing continuous and even illumination along key lines. This helps define the building’s form at night and improves visibility for visitors moving around the church grounds. The controlled output of LuxBeat ensures that light is placed only where needed, avoiding excessive brightness or glare.

CETUS is equipped with built-in features that support performance in demanding outdoor environments. Optional surge protection reinforces its ability to operate under unstable electrical conditions, while the integrated vent helps rapidly equalize internal pressure during sudden changes in ambient temperature. Ultra-tough silica-boron trioxide glass provides high resistance to chemicals and strong impact protection, making CETUS suitable for exposed architectural locations within the church compound.

SIRIUS linear luminaires are installed in selected areas to provide subtle wall washing and indirect illumination. Their clean design and flexible mounting options make them suitable for architectural applications where uniform light distribution is required. In this project, SIRIUS contributes to a soft and even lighting layer that supports the overall nighttime appearance of the church while maintaining visual comfort.

KUBIK luminaires are used as accent and spotlight solutions for statues, symbolic elements, and selected landscape features. Their robust construction and adjustable aiming capability allow light to be directed precisely, highlighting important focal points without causing glare. This careful use of accent lighting helps reinforce the spiritual identity of the church and guides visual attention in a respectful manner.

BICEPS bollard luminaires are installed along pathways and circulation areas to support safe movement around the church during evening hours. Designed for low glare output, BICEPS provides functional illumination at pedestrian level while maintaining visual comfort. The bollards contribute to a clear and organized nighttime environment, ensuring that visitors can move safely without harsh or intrusive lighting.

Unilamp’s premium quality luminaires are designed for architectural environments that demand reliability, durability, and controlled light output. For a religious site such as St. Raphael Catholic Church, lighting must perform consistently over time while requiring minimal maintenance. UniShield16 coating plays a key role in this project, offering enhanced resistance to corrosion and environmental stress, which is essential for long-term outdoor installations.
The luminaires’ straightforward design and flexible installation options allow them to integrate naturally into the architecture. This ensures that the lighting supports the space rather than competing with it. The result is a balanced lighting scheme that respects the church’s purpose while meeting practical needs.
The lighting installation at St. Raphael Catholic Church demonstrates how a well-planned lighting approach can strengthen architectural identity while supporting daily use. By combining different luminaire types and applying them with restraint, the project achieves a clear, organized, and respectful nighttime appearance. Unilamp’s premium quality luminaires, reinforced with UniShield16 coating, deliver consistent performance and dependable illumination that aligns with the church’s values and long-term needs.
This project reflects Unilamp’s experience in architectural outdoor lighting, where attention to detail, durability, and light quality are essential. The result is a lighting solution that enhances the church environment, supports safety and orientation, and preserves the integrity of the space after dark.
