Project Overview

The Heffron Centre, located in Maroubra, New South Wales, Australia, is a multipurpose community sporting facility offering modern amenities for sports, dance, and gymnastics programs. The centre also serves as the home of the South Sydney Rabbitohs, supporting both professional training and community activities.

The facility includes sports training areas and public spaces designed to support a wide range of programs and community engagement. As a modern sports venue, the building required an external lighting approach that enhances the visual appearance of the architecture while maintaining usability for public spaces.

This project is using Unilamp SIRIUS inground luminaires, used to illuminate the building façade and emphasize the architectural structure of the facility.

The Solution

The lighting installation uses SIRIUS inground luminaires positioned at the base of the building façade.

These luminaires project controlled upward light onto the vertical brick columns, helping to highlight the architectural structure of the building and improve the visual clarity of the façade during evening hours.

The lighting approach focuses on emphasizing the architectural rhythm of the columns while maintaining a balanced lighting environment for the surrounding public areas.
