Unilamp Illuminates Pom Mahakan Bridge with Architectural Heritage Lighting

Unilamp is honored to support the architectural lighting installation of the historic Pom Mahakan Bridge in Bangkok as part of River of Life: Preserving Rattanakosin Heritage under Royal Benevolence, a commemorative event celebrating the birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua on 28 July 2026.
Held from 24–31 July 2026, the event transforms the canals surrounding Rattanakosin Island into a vibrant nighttime destination through cultural activities, heritage experiences, and thoughtfully designed architectural lighting. The illuminated bridge becomes an important visual landmark, strengthening the connection between Thailand's waterways, historic architecture, and public spaces.
Designed by FOS Lighting Design Studio, the project demonstrates how architectural lighting can enhance heritage structures while preserving their authenticity. Unilamp proudly supported the installation by providing Micro ALPHA precision spotlights and LuxBeat architectural linear luminaires, creating a lighting composition that reveals the bridge's decorative craftsmanship, architectural proportions, and elegant form after sunset.

Architectural Lighting Design for Heritage Bridges

The lighting concept combines precision spotlighting with continuous linear illumination to create depth, hierarchy, and visual rhythm while respecting the historic character of the bridge.

Precision Spotlighting with Micro ALPHA

Compact Micro ALPHA LED spotlights are discreetly integrated into the bridge structure to illuminate decorative railings, ornamental columns, and sculptural architectural details. Their compact dimensions allow the luminaires to remain virtually invisible, ensuring the architecture, not the lighting equipment, becomes the visual focus.

Different optical distributions were carefully selected according to each architectural element:

• 12° beam for narrow architectural accents

Complementing the accent lighting, LuxBeat architectural linear luminaires provide continuous 3000K warm white illumination beneath the decorative railings. The seamless linear lighting follows the elegant curvature of the bridge, emphasizing its architectural geometry while creating smooth reflections across the canal.
